Toxic mold syndrome is a controversial illness associated with molds. While many of the symptoms of this illness can be attributed to mold allergies, there are some symptoms that are not easily explained as simple allergies. Typical symptoms of toxic mold syndrome range from headaches, itchy eyes, and runny nose to chest tightness, dizziness, and intestinal problems. Recent research seems to indicate that buildings that are damp and moldy can negatively influence a person’s health and perhaps lead to symptoms associated with toxic mold syndrome.
